About Us
We are a team of three dedicated moms with professional backgrounds in Education, Psychology, and Neurotherapy. Together, we bring a unique blend of academic expertise and real‑world understanding of how children grow, learn, and heal.
We look beyond behaviour and academics to understand your child’s nervous system, their stress responses, and their capacity to adapt, regulate, and learn. By recognising when a child is stuck in fight‑or‑flight and helping them return to a state of safety and readiness, we support them in rebuilding confidence, closing learning gaps, and rediscovering a genuine love of learning.
Our passion is simple: to meet each child exactly where they are, understand what their brain and body need, and guide them toward a calmer, stronger, more joyful learning journey.
What We Do
- Restoring Calm and Safety
A child cannot learn while their nervous system is in fight‑or‑flight. Before academics, we help your child feel safe, grounded, and regulated, because no one can perform when their brain feels like it’s in a burning building. Once calm returns, learning becomes possible again.
- Finding the Right Starting Point
We assess where your child truly is in their learning journey. By identifying gaps and strengthening foundational skills, we ensure they are prepared for the increasing demands of higher grades. We don’t push them forward, we build them up.
- Building Trust, Connection, and Emotional Strength
Children learn best when they feel understood. Through counselling, emotional support, and consistent connection, we help your child manage stress, develop resilience, and grow a healthier mindset. Their mental wellbeing is at the heart of everything we do.

Some lessons can only be learned in a group. We coach children through friendships, conflict, social cues, and tricky peer dynamics. They learn how to communicate, negotiate, stand up for themselves, and build meaningful connections, skills they cannot develop in isolation.

What age groups do you accommodate?
We work with children from Grade R to Grade 7. We don’t box children into a grade just because of their age. If there are gaps, we fill them. If they’re ahead, we honour that too. Your child starts where they are, not where a system says they should be.
What are your hours?
We open our doors at 7:00am for drop‑off. Our programme begins at 8:00am, and from there we focus, learn, regulate, grow, and make steady progress until 1:00pm, when it’s time for pick‑up. Simple. Predictable. Calm.
How can we be sure that Life Prep is a fit for us?
Here’s the truth — our way isn’t for everyone. We’re a close‑knit, committed tribe. When your child joins us, we invest fully. We expect the same partnership from families.
To make sure this is the right environment for your child, we insist on a trial day. Your child spends time in our space, meets our team, and experiences the kindness and culture of our learners. You’ll see very quickly whether they feel safe, seen, and settled.
Parents then sit down with Yvonne to talk through concerns, goals, and next steps. You get the full picture — no pressure, no rush, no guesswork. You make the decision as a family, with clarity and confidence.
